New Hope Central Oahu was born on April 4, 1999, in Wahiawa Middle School during what future generations may call the New Hope Hawaii revival. It is an auspicious date since April 4, 1820, was the date the first Christian missionaries arrived in Hawaii. Pastor Wayne Cordeiro planted our “mother church,” New Hope Oahu, on September 10, 1995. Sitting in the audience that morning at Stevenson Intermediate School were Mike, Mona, Mark, and Rachael Palompo. By Christmas the church had grown to 1,000 people. In one year the church was 3,000. The power and presence of God had come to Hawaii.
